3. Authentic Accommodation Reviews by Korean

Now, let’s get into the real-deal accommodation reviews of Travelodge Myeongdong City Hall. I’ll be sharing with you the nitty-gritty of reviews left by actual Korean guests who’ve stayed in the hotel.

3.1. Review 1 : “Great location and stylish room interior made for a satisfying stay.”

What It Was Like Staying at Travelodge Myeongdong City Hall

During my recent trip to Seoul, I spent the first night at Travelodge Myeongdong City Hall, located just a 3-minute walk from City Hall Station. The proximity to Bukchang-dong’s food alley made dining super convenient. I checked in around 6 PM, and since the hotel caters mostly to foreigners, the front desk staff were non-Korean. Communication was smooth in English, but they were also able to assist in Korean, which was reassuring.

Though the hotel isn’t huge (B1 to 11F), it has two elevators and thoughtful touches like a WOWPASS kiosk and luggage scale for international travelers. I booked a “Superior Queen” room for KRW 68,970 and was assigned room 801 at the end of the 8th floor. Being in the corner gave me a subtle sense of privacy, and I immediately liked the layout and interior when I walked in.

The room had a bathtub, which was perfect for a relaxing soak, and the coat rack was tall enough for heavy winter coats. I particularly appreciated the recessed toilet paper holder below the sink—it was both space-efficient and aesthetically pleasing. The bathroom was dry-style and didn’t come with slippers or disposable items, so be sure to bring your own.

The TV defaulted to an English welcome screen, reinforcing how international this hotel brand really is. One drawback was the sound insulation: while room-to-room noise was minimal, I could hear hallway conversations quite clearly, especially from some Chinese tourists. It wasn’t disruptive, but something to keep in mind if you’re noise-sensitive.

Bullet Point Summary

Stay Info: Superior Queen Room (801), 1 night, KRW 68,970

Location: 3-min walk from City Hall Station, near Bukchang-dong food alley

Check-in/out: 15:00 / 12:00

Facilities: WOWPASS kiosk, luggage scale, water dispensers

System: Central heating/cooling (no in-room control), non-smoking throughout

Drawbacks: Hallway noise can be audible, no parking, no extra bedding

3.2. Review 2 : Affordable stay with unbeatable location and diverse amenities at Travelodge Myeongdong City Hall

What It Was Like Staying at Travelodge Myeongdong City Hall

During my trip to Seoul, I stayed at Travelodge Myeongdong City Hall and found it to be one of the most reasonably priced hotels with the best location. Just a 2-minute walk from City Hall Station, the hotel sits within walking distance of Deoksugung, Myeongdong, Namdaemun Market, Seoul Museum of Art, and more. Check-in was at 3 PM and check-out at 12 PM. The modern, clean lobby had a lively travel atmosphere with both domestic and international guests.

I was assigned a Superior Queen Room on the 9th floor. To my surprise, the room was spacious, with a large, comfortable bed perfect for a restful night. Amenities included Wi-Fi, a mini fridge, bottled water, tea set, safe, slippers, and more. The bed was slightly firm—just how I like it—and the decor was both practical and stylish, with useful features like temperature controls and power outlets on both sides of the bed.

The bathroom had a bathtub ideal for a relaxing soak, and basic amenities like shampoo, body wash, and hand soap were provided. However, items like a toothbrush and toothpaste were not, so be sure to bring your own. I especially liked the fragrance of the hand wash.

The B1 level featured a surprisingly wide range of services: a business center with two PCs, 24-hour coin laundry, fitness room, snack bar, meeting room, massage chairs, and a microwave. Though the sauna was not in operation, the rest made the hotel ideal for long stays. There’s no hotel parking, but we found a clean and spacious nearby public lot, free on weekends and reasonably priced during the week.

Bullet Point Summary

Location: 2-min walk to City Hall Station, walking distance to Deoksugung, Myeongdong, Namdaemun, etc.

Check-in/out: 15:00 / 12:00

Amenities: Bottled water, tea, safe, slippers included; toothbrush/toothpaste not provided
