2. Authentic Accommodation Reviews by Korean
Now, let’s get into the real-deal accommodation reviews of THE PLAZA Seoul Autograph Collection. I’ll be sharing with you the nitty-gritty of reviews left by actual Korean guests who’ve stayed in the hotel.
2.1. Review 1 : “The perfect staycation spot to enjoy tranquility in the heart of Seoul!“
What It Was Like Staying at THE PLAZA Seoul Autograph Collection
Connected directly to City Hall Station, The Plaza Hotel was the ideal place to enjoy both travel and relaxation within the city. It’s conveniently located near popular attractions like Deoksugung and Gyeongbokgung Palaces, making it a great base for exploring Seoul. While standard check-in is done at the first-floor lobby, Marriott Platinum members or those with club lounge access can check in more privately at the 5th-floor lounge.
I stayed in room 2064. The room was fairly spacious, though the layout—with the bed’s headboard visible right from the entrance—made it feel a bit compact. Mirrors placed on either side of the bed created a sense of expanded space, and the window offered an impressive view of City Hall Square and even the Blue House in the distance. The room came with capsule coffee and two bottles of complimentary water, while drinks in the minibar were chargeable. The bathroom included a shower booth but no bathtub. Refillable amenities like shampoo and body wash were provided, while dental kits and razors were available for purchase—so it’s more convenient to bring your own.
The swimming pool isn’t located in the main hotel building but across the street in another building, which requires a bit of walking. The lounge served all-day snacks and evening hors d’oeuvres, including salmon, chopped steak, dim sum, and cocktails—everything was quite satisfying. I also had breakfast in the lounge, which featured a mix of Korean and Western options like bacon, sausage, mapo tofu, traditional side dishes, and dried pollack soup that was perfect for a hangover. Fresh fruit, salad, and bakery items were also available.
One unique perk was that the concierge on the first floor offered complimentary Deoksugung Palace tickets, which allowed for a spontaneous cultural visit. With its convenient location, great food, and thoughtful service, The Plaza Hotel made for a truly enjoyable Seoul staycation.
Bullet Point Summary

2.2. Review 2 : “Tranquil Luxury in the Bustling City — The Plaza Hotel’s Top-Tier Sauna & Lounge!“
What It Was Like Staying at THE PLAZA Seoul Autograph Collection
Tired from long road trips during the May holiday, I opted for a city staycation during June and chose The Plaza Hotel near City Hall Station. I stayed in a Club Business King Room and made the most of the club lounge, sauna, and swimming pool.
Though check-in was at 3 PM, I arrived at 1 PM and was allowed to wait in the lounge—and even use the sauna before checking in. My room on the 12th floor was the most basic club category, but it came with wine, cookies, and a welcome letter. The city view was open and pleasant. The sauna offered a panoramic view of Namsan, while the lounge faced City Hall.
Room amenities included refillable Balmain products, but toothbrushes and toothpaste needed to be brought along. Notably, dishes from the famous Chinese restaurant “Do Won” were available via room service.
The sauna, located in the annex (floors 16–18), featured hot, cold, steam, and infrared baths. It was clean, quiet, and luxurious—with massage chairs, newspapers, and even reading glasses available. I visited it five times—yes, it was that good. The pool had four lanes clearly divided for families, members, and casual swimmers. Despite being the weekend, it was pleasantly quiet and offered a nice view of Namsan Tower.
Compared to the nearby Westin Josun Seoul, The Plaza Hotel wins hands down in terms of sauna quality, while Westin has the edge in pool facilities. Westin felt crowded, while The Plaza was calm and relaxing.
Bullet Point Summary
Location: In front of City Hall Station, parking in annex, access via LL floor
Room: Club Business King, city view, complimentary wine, cookies, welcome letter
Check-in: Lounge waiting and pre-check-in sauna access for club guests
Amenities: Refillable Balmain products, no toothbrush/toothpaste provided
Sauna: Floors 16–18 in annex, various bath types, clean and luxurious
Pool: 4 lanes (family, member, casual), quiet even on weekends, Namsan view
Comparison: Westin = better pool / Plaza = unbeatable sauna quality
