3. Authentic Accommodation Reviews by Korean

Now, let’s get into the real-deal accommodation reviews of Sotetsu Fresa Inn Seoul Myeongdong. I’ll be sharing with you the nitty-gritty of reviews left by actual Korean guests who’ve stayed in the hotel.

3.1. Review 1 : “A budget-friendly hotel in the heart of Myeongdong with spacious and clean rooms!”

What It Was Like Staying at Sotetsu Fresa Inn Seoul Myeongdong

I stayed at Sotetsu Fresa Inn Seoul Myeongdong, located in the heart of Myeongdong, while traveling around Seongsu and Yongsan. The weekday rate was in the 100,000 KRW range, which made it a great value. The staff were friendly, and the rooms were well-maintained and clean, allowing for a comfortable and hassle-free stay—100% paid by myself.

📍 Location:
The hotel is near the Lotte Department Store main branch in Myeongdong. The entrance can be a bit tricky to find—go in through the building next to Woori Bank.

🛎️ Check-in & Lobby:
The hotel has 152 rooms from the 4th to 12th floors, and you check in on the 13th floor. Most of the guests were foreigners, which reminded me that Myeongdong is truly a shopping hotspot. The lobby was clean and had ample seating.
Check-in is at 3 PM and check-out at 12 PM—more generous than many other hotels. There’s a self check-in kiosk, which most foreigners used, but we were helped by a very kind staff member at the front desk.

Lobby Amenities:
Inside the lobby, there’s a microwave and coffee machine. From 8–10 AM, you can eat or drink at the lobby tables. I made myself a fresh cup of coffee during checkout the next day—perfect caffeine boost.

🧴 Self-Service Amenities:
You can pick up what you need yourself—tea bags, soap, combs, etc. Note: Due to regulations on disposable items, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and razors are sold separately.

🛏️ Our Room: Universal Double Room (Room 516)
We stayed in a Universal Double Room—also known as a barrier-free room designed for guests with mobility needs. My partner made the booking and chose this room because it was one of the last available and much larger than others.
We received two room keys. The hallway and room were extra wide, ideal for wheelchair access.

🔌 Room Features:

  • Power outlets by the bed
  • Pajamas provided (I found them a bit rough, but my partner loved them)
  • Small table and TV—suitable for light snacking
  • Coffee pot, air purifier, humidifier
  • Two complimentary bottles of water in the fridge (you can ask for more at the lobby)
  • Bathroom was spotless and pleasantly scented, with wide space and support bars for accessibility
  • Toiletries included hand wash, cotton swabs, hair ties, remover, lotion, and a hairdryer
(Bring your own toothbrush, toothpaste, and cleanser)

🛁 Additional Room Features:

  • Shampoo, conditioner, body wash
  • Disposable slippers, wardrobe, and safe
  • Full-length mirror

Because Sotetsu is a Japanese hotel chain, other rooms looked much smaller. But with the Universal Double Room, we had plenty of space to fully open our suitcases. Honestly, it exceeded my expectations—big shoutout to my partner for the great choice.

Overall, I was completely satisfied with the location, price, cleanliness, and service. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a great-value hotel in Myeongdong!

3.2. Review 2 : A compact yet highly functional hotel right in the heart of Myeongdong!

What It Was Like Staying at Sotetsu Fresa Inn Seoul Myeongdong

During my Seoul trip, I stayed at “Sotetsu Fresa Inn Seoul Myeongdong,” a hotel that perfectly balanced price, convenience, and comfort. Just a 5-minute walk from Myeongdong Station, its central location was ideal for shopping, sightseeing, and catching the Christmas media facade at Shinsegae Department Store.

Despite its compact Japanese chain-style twin room, the amenities were impressive: Sealy mattresses, air purifier, touch control panel for lights and temperature, YouTube-enabled TV, mini fridge, and electric kettle. The 13th-floor lobby offered free amenities like tea, bath salts, cotton pads, and a coffee machine with ice maker.

The presence of a bathtub with bath salts made for a relaxing end to the day. Check-in and check-out were a breeze with a kiosk and express checkout option. A slight drawback was the occasional mechanical noise from the heater, but overall, the experience was so satisfactory that I’d gladly return.

Bullet Point Summary

Location: 5-min walk from Myeongdong Station, central and safe area

Price: Approx. ₩130,000 for one night during holiday season (great value)

Room: Standard twin, compact yet fully equipped

Amenities: Air purifier, mini fridge, electric kettle, YouTube-capable TV

Bathroom: Bathtub included with provided bath salts

Lobby: Free items (tea, bath salts, etc.), coffee machine & ice maker available

Check-in/out: Fast via kiosk and express checkout

Downside: Slight noise from heater, but manageable
