2.1. Review 1 : “Compact yet well-equipped, a value-for-money hotel in Myeongdong’s best location”

What It Was Like Staying at Line Hotel Myeongdong

Line Hotel Myeongdong is actually closer to Euljiro 1-ga Station than Myeongdong Station, and it’s also within very short walking distance to the Lotte Department Store main branch. Located right in the heart of Myeongdong’s commercial district, the hotel’s accessibility is outstanding.
The room I stayed in featured three beds, and came with all the essentials like a table, TV, mini fridge, electric kettle, and hangers.
Though the room wasn’t spacious, it had everything necessary. The bathroom was clean and stocked with soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. However, I didn’t see any toothbrush provided.
The view from the room was mostly of surrounding buildings, but the overall room condition was excellent. What stood out most was the unbeatable location.
I booked it for around 110,000 KRW via Hotels.com, and felt the value for money was more than satisfactory.
Myeongdong itself has fully recovered its energy, resembling the pre-COVID era. There were many eateries, no empty storefronts, and a huge number of foreign tourists, which seemed to bring positive vibes for local businesses.

2.2. Review 2 : A Budget-Friendly Stay in the Heart of Myeongdong – My Honest Review of “Line Hotel Myeongdong” Triple Room

What It Was Like Staying at Line Hotel Myeongdong

My friends and I needed a place to stay on short notice and remembered staying at this hotel last year. Since the price was still affordable (around 90,000 KRW per night), we booked a triple room again. Check-in was at 3 PM and check-out at 11 AM, which is fairly standard.

Located right in front of Euljiro 1-ga Station and next to a major road, the hotel is super convenient for public transport. There are pharmacies, convenience stores, restaurants, and cafes nearby. Plus, it’s situated right above the famous hot pot place, Haidilao. If you’re planning to dine there, it’s super convenient—you can just go downstairs from your room. However, since the hotel shares the elevator with Haidilao, it can get quite crowded around mealtimes.

The front desk is on the 5th floor. During check-in, they ask if you need a disposable toothbrush. The 5th floor also has a lounge that doubles as a luggage storage space. You have to drop off and pick up your own bags. The lounge also provides Wi-Fi info, a drinking water dispenser, a body scale for weighing suitcases, and a small microwave.

Access to guest floors requires tapping your keycard in the elevator. We stayed in a triple room on the 4th floor. When entering the room, you have to insert the keycard to activate the lights. The entryway has slippers and a trash bin, and a compact bathroom is right next to the entrance. There’s no window in the bathroom, so ventilation was poor and it had a slight musty smell. However, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, shower towels, and hand towels were provided according to the number of guests.

The room had three single beds in a relatively small space, so there wasn’t much walking room between the beds. Still, the bedding was clean and the mattresses were comfortable. There are multiple power outlets, including a multi-tap that supports international plugs. A hair dryer and tissue box were also available.

The movable clothes rack was actually useful, and there were more power outlets near the TV. The window view faces nearby offices and a café, so keeping the curtains closed is a must for privacy. The window can be opened for ventilation, which was nice. On the table were a TV, electric kettle, and Wi-Fi password. When I noticed there was no remote control, I called the front desk, and they brought one up quickly and checked that it worked.

There’s also a small fridge under the table stocked with 500ml water bottles for each guest. Overall, I had a very comfortable stay with no major issues. If you’re looking for an affordable stay in central Myeongdong, especially if you’re planning a meal at Haidilao, I highly recommend Line Hotel.
