2.1. Review 1 : “Looking for a unique winter date in Seoul? Try the private spa at ibis Styles Ambassador Seoul Myeongdong!”
What It Was Like Staying at ibis Styles Ambassador Seoul Myeongdong
I shared my personal experience at the ibis Styles Ambassador Seoul Myeongdong, not for a traditional overnight stay but mainly to enjoy their private spa & sauna. The hotel, a 3-star property, is quite compact with a small lobby and slightly outdated interior, but its location in bustling Myeongdong makes it popular with international tourists.
We chose a standard room—very compact and simple. The bathroom reminded me of an old apartment’s plastic-style unit with limited ventilation. The TV didn’t support Netflix or YouTube, which was disappointing, so we had to use our iPad instead.
Parking was tricky; since we had an SUV, we were directed to an open public lot, not the mechanical one. Also, many amenities including toothbrushes, bathrobes, and even bottled water were charged separately. We bought bathrobes for the spa, but their quality was underwhelming.
The highlight, of course, was the spa on the 20th floor. It’s fully private by reservation and includes a sauna and outdoor bath. The water was warm (28–29°C), though the open-air setting allowed chilly winds. Sadly, we couldn’t enjoy the night view of Namsan Tower due to cloudy weather. Light snacks are allowed, but no delivery food.
There’s a separate shower area with basic toiletries, and swimsuits are required. After the spa, we strolled around Myeongdong and wrapped up with take-out food in our room.
In conclusion, this hotel is best for couples seeking a short, unique date experience rather than a luxurious stay. Recommended for winter indoor dates with a twist.

2.2. Review 2 : “Looking for a value-for-money hotel with breakfast in Myeongdong? ibis Styles Ambassador Seoul Myeongdong is a solid choice!“
What It Was Like Staying at ibis Styles Ambassador Seoul Myeongdong
This review summarizes my recent stay at ibis Styles Ambassador Seoul Myeongdong, a 3-star hotel located on Samil-daero in central Seoul. Keep in mind that there are two ibis properties in the Myeongdong area — one is simply “ibis,” and the other is “ibis Styles.” I stayed at the ibis Styles Ambassador, and it’s important not to confuse the two when booking.
The check-in time is 2 PM, and checkout is at 12 PM, which offers a relaxed schedule. Thanks to my hotel membership, I received two welcome drink coupons and a complimentary late checkout. The front desk even let me check in early since the room was ready — a convenient plus.
I stayed in a Standard Double Room on the 19th floor (out of 21), and the high-floor city view was definitely a highlight. The room was compact (about 16–17㎡), but the bed was large and comfortable. However, due to nearby construction, the hotel provided earplugs, which came in handy during daytime hours when noise was present.
Inside the room, there was an open wardrobe, a TV mounted high for comfortable bed viewing, a mini fridge, slippers, and a bathrobe. The bathroom setup had a separate shower area, toilet, and sink, which I found convenient. Shampoo and body wash were complimentary, but toothbrushes, toothpaste, bottled water, and the robe came with extra charges — a bit disappointing, especially the bottled water.
There’s a water purifier on the first floor, so it’s helpful to bring your own reusable bottle. Otherwise, you’ll have to make trips or buy from the nearby convenience store.
The hotel also offers a rooftop open-air sauna on the 20th floor by reservation only (max 4 people per session). I didn’t use it this time but regret not bringing a swimsuit. The price seemed reasonable, and it looked like a great add-on for a future visit.
Breakfast is served in the basement restaurant from 7:30 AM to 10 AM. I enjoyed it for free with my membership, but even at the regular rate of KRW 24,000, the spread felt worth it — including salads, cereal, yogurt, rice, Korean side dishes, hot food, and made-to-order eggs like omelets and sunny side up.
Overall, the location is unbeatable, the price reasonable, and the breakfast surprisingly solid. It’s a great pick for travelers wanting convenient access to Myeongdong, Euljiro, or Jongno while sticking to a budget.
