2. Authentic Accommodation Reviews by Korean
Now, let’s get into the real-deal accommodation reviews of Hotel Midcity Myeongdong. I’ll be sharing with you the nitty-gritty of reviews left by actual Korean guests who’ve stayed in the hotel.
2.1. Review 1 : “Clean and accessible, a perfect business hotel in central Seoul.”
What It Was Like Staying at Hotel Midcity Myeongdong
Hotel Midcity Myeongdong was my accommodation for a 2-night, 3-day business trip in late October. Situated between Euljiro 1-ga Station, City Hall, and Gwanghwamun—all within a 5-minute walk—it offered superb accessibility. The hotel opened in 2020 and is a 3-star establishment with 140 rooms over 9 floors. Parking is not available, but public transport is excellent.
I stayed in a Standard Twin Room since the Double was unavailable. It had two single beds with Simmons mattresses, which were surprisingly comfortable for a 3-star hotel. The room included a work desk, small table, and sofa—convenient for working and organizing luggage. However, the chair lacked back support, which made long use uncomfortable.
In-room amenities included a safe, mini fridge, electric kettle, two daily water bottles, a 50-inch TV with Netflix and YouTube (though external input was glitchy), USB ports, and a multi-charging cable. The bathroom was clean and featured American Standard fixtures, a large hairdryer, and standard toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion.
Elevators required key card access, and while I didn’t try the breakfast buffet, it’s offered for ₩15,000 per person on the 2nd floor. The view was just urban buildings, but blackout curtains ensured privacy. With many restaurants and shops nearby, meals and shopping were easy. Despite carpet flooring (which I normally dislike), cleanliness was well-maintained.
Overall, this hotel is a solid choice for business or leisure stays in the Myeongdong or Euljiro area, offering cleanliness and convenience at a reasonable rate.
Bullet Point Summary
Location: 5-minute walk to Euljiro 1-ga, City Hall, and Gwanghwamun Stations
Facility: Opened in 2020, 3-star hotel with 140 rooms
Room: Twin room with Simmons mattresses, desk, sofa, and mini table
Amenities: 2 bottles of water daily, safe, kettle, TV (Netflix supported), USB ports, multi-charging cable
Bathroom: Bidet, large hairdryer, full set of toiletries, clean and well-maintained
Others: Breakfast available (₩15,000), key card elevator system, urban building view
Cons: No parking, uncomfortable chair, TV input issue
Recommended for: Business travelers or anyone looking for a hotel in Myeongdong/Euljiro area

2.2. Review 2 : “A clean and friendly Myeongdong hotel perfect for a relaxing day in the city“
What It Was Like Staying at Hotel Midcity Myeongdong
A recent 1-night stay at Hotel Midcity Myeongdong with my boyfriend offered a great mini getaway in central Seoul. With easy access to Myeongdong, Euljiro, Jongno, and Cheonggyecheon, the location was ideal for short trips or date nights.
The hotel had a modern gray exterior with a prominent sign, and the lobby was spacious and stylish. Friendly front desk staff made the check-in pleasant, and there was even a hanbok experience corner—great for tourists.
We stayed in a twin room with cozy bedding and a small sofa table by the window to enjoy the city view. The room included a kettle, cups, safe, fridge, and complimentary water. The bathroom was clean and bright, with a lighted mirror—handy for makeup—and hygienic dispenser-style toiletries.
We visited the rooftop, which offered a nice view of the Seoul skyline, perfect for sunny-day photos. Breakfast at the B2-level restaurant included a salad bar with fresh fruits and vegetables, plus hot foods like fried vegetables, eggs, and sausages. My plate had croissants, salad, bananas, and more—simple yet satisfying.
From check-in to check-out, the staff was incredibly kind. We saw many families, foreign tourists, and business guests. For a short escape or urban retreat, Hotel Midcity Myeongdong is a solid choice.
