2.1. Review 1 : “A perfect Seoul staycation hotel with breathtaking views, great vibes, and delicious food!”
What It Was Like Staying at Grand Hyatt Seoul
To wrap up the 2024 holiday season, I stayed at Grand Hyatt Seoul with my family from December 27 to 29. Situated right under Namsan Mountain, the hotel instantly impresses with its glittering lobby and luxurious ambiance. Every visit feels special, and the panoramic Han River view from our room was truly memorable.
The lobby and check-in process set the tone with seasonal floral displays and elegant décor. For those with a Globalist tier or Club Lounge access, private check-in at the LL floor lounge adds a premium touch.
Our room was located on a high floor facing the Han River, offering expansive views through floor-to-ceiling windows. Winter scenery, including the ice rink below, created a serene, picturesque atmosphere. The room was stocked with 4 complimentary water bottles, capsule coffee, and premium Balmain toiletries. While there was no bathtub, the walk-in shower and amenities were high-end.
The outdoor ice rink—accessible to hotel guests—added a romantic twist, especially when snow suddenly started falling, enhancing the winter wonderland vibe.
Club Lounge Evening Cocktail (Happy Hour) was a highlight. The quality of dishes like steak, ribs, and a rotating noodle station (Nagasaki seafood jjamppong during our stay) was excellent. Dessert offerings like Medovik cake and chocolate mousse were delightful, with a nice selection of fruits including watermelon.
The breakfast buffet at ‘Terrace’ on the first floor featured a wide array of Korean and Western dishes: stir-fried rice, bulgogi, grilled fish, pho, kimchi stew, sausages, pastries, and fresh fruits. A window seat allowed us to enjoy the sunrise while savoring our breakfast.
Overall, this hotel is ideal for both family retreats and romantic getaways. With excellent service, delicious food, beautiful views, and a sophisticated atmosphere, it’s a place I’d gladly return to again and again.
Bullet Point Summary

Overall: Ideal Seoul staycation hotel for families or couples, highly recommended

2.2. Review 2 : “A perfect staycation with a Namsan view, delicious breakfast, and relaxing pool at Grand Hyatt Seoul!“
What It Was Like Staying at Grand Hyatt Seoul
ecently, I stayed at Grand Hyatt Seoul on a weekday for a relaxing staycation with my girlfriend. It’s a 5-star hotel offering a spacious outdoor pool, stunning views, and excellent breakfast. We arrived at 2:30 PM—30 minutes before check-in—but our room was ready, so we entered without waiting. The total cost was around 500,000 KRW, and many foreign and domestic guests were also staying.
Parking is paid: valet service is 25,000 KRW, and self-parking is 10,000 KRW per night. The lobby was darker than expected but still elegant. We booked breakfast, which normally costs 70,000 KRW per person, but got it for 35,000 KRW thanks to a membership discount.
Our room was a standard type on the 9th floor with a Namsan view. It had a wide, soft bed that gave us a restful sleep. We specifically chose Namsan over Han River view, as lower-floor river rooms tend to be blocked by nearby buildings. At night, the city lights and Namsan view were beautiful. Balmain toiletries were provided, and the shower was separate from the sink area. Note that toothbrushes incur a charge.
The room had a mini bar, glassware, and a coffee pot, making it easy to prepare simple food like instant noodles. After dinner in Hannam-dong and visiting a jazz bar, we returned for a comfortable night’s sleep.
The outdoor swimming pool was spacious and had many sunbeds. The front-row ones were highly sought after, but we moved there 30 minutes before pool closing when they became available. The pool’s depth ranges from 1.2m to 1.8m. Shallow areas were crowded; deeper zones less so. Long hair must be tied up, and swim caps are required for the indoor pool. You can use the pool even after breakfast until checkout.
Breakfast was served until 10 AM, and we went down at 9. A wide variety of food—salads, bread, bacon, eggs, fruits, yogurt, pho—made the morning meal enjoyable. A tip: 9:00–9:30 AM is the best time to go to avoid crowds. Fresh juices (orange, grapefruit, vegetable blends) and coffee were available, though no sodas.
After a delicious breakfast, we packed, showered, and checked out at 11. There was a slight wait at the front desk due to limited staff. Overall, the hotel offers plenty to enjoy compared to other Hyatt properties, and I’d love to return again.
Bullet Point Summary
Stay date: Weekday stay with girlfriend
Rate: ~500,000 KRW; breakfast discount via membership (70,000 → 35,000 KRW)
Parking: Valet 25,000 KRW / Self-parking 10,000 KRW
Room: Standard room, 9F, Namsan view – comfy bed, great night view
Amenities: Balmain toiletries, separated shower, paid toothbrush
Mini bar & pot: Easy instant meal prep
Swimming pool: Spacious, front-row sunbeds in high demand, usable before checkout
Breakfast: Diverse options, best time is 9–9:30 AM to avoid crowd
