2.1. Review 1 : “Pacific Hotel Seoul in Myeongdong, a Satisfying Choice for the Price”

What It Was Like Staying at Pacific Hotel Seoul

Located in the heart of Myeongdong, Seoul, Pacific Hotel Seoul was a surprisingly good choice given its location in such a bustling area. Initially, I thought it might be overpriced and underwhelming, but it turned out to be a pleasant stay with a reasonable price. Situated near Myeongdong Station, the hotel offers convenient transportation and is close to shopping centers and eateries, making it ideal for travelers.

The check-in process was simple, and the hallway leading to the room was clean and welcoming. Upon entering the room, I was surprised by how spacious and comfortable it was. The lighting in the room was excellent, creating a great atmosphere for photos, which was a nice bonus. The overall hotel ambiance was positive and well-maintained.

The bathroom was another pleasant surprise, featuring a bathtub—something you don’t often find in budget hotels. The space was roomy enough to be comfortable, and everything was spotless. The room also included furniture such as a fridge and wardrobe, which were functional even though I didn’t need to use them during my stay.

Breakfast was served at the Halley’s Café on the first floor, consisting of basic items like bacon, bread, eggs, and a cup of Americano. As someone who doesn’t drink coffee, this part was a bit of a letdown, but the breakfast was still decent.

Overall, the Pacific Hotel Seoul in Myeongdong was a great choice in terms of location, price, and comfort. It provided a relaxing and pleasant stay, making it an excellent option for those visiting Seoul.

2.2. Review 2 : Though outdated outside, the spacious room and proximity to Namsan made for a perfect Myeongdong staycation.

What It Was Like Staying at Pacific Hotel Seoul

This post summarizes my stay at Pacific Hotel Seoul in Myeongdong, Seoul. Although I initially planned a short trip near Seoul, finding a triple room within reasonable distance (without a car) was challenging—so I ended up back in Myeongdong again. It’s familiar and always convenient.

The exterior was old, even with signage that looked almost North Korean in font style. However, stepping inside, there was a kind of 80s vintage glamor. The hotel had a Tom N Toms on the first floor and a Twosome Place café right across the street. There’s also a sauna and massage area, though I didn’t get to use it this time.

The hallway was unexpectedly spacious with displayed artworks and ceramics, giving it a classy feel. The room was large, with plenty of extra space, a comfy sofa, and a proper table—perfect for late-night snacks. Booking directly on their official website was cheaper than Agoda or Booking.com, a great tip for future visits.

Originally I booked a city view, but it got switched to a mountain view, which turned out to be a bonus—it had a clear view of Namsan Tower when I turned my head slightly. The bed was spacious (double + single combo), and while I forgot to photograph the bathroom (blogger fail!), everything else was on point.

Outside the entrance was a cute little garden, and the biggest perk was being able to walk to Namsan Park for a scenic stroll. I walked all the way to Baekbeom Square and even discovered a fortress wall area that resembled Naksan Park, though it seemed to be somewhere else.

Although the sunset view from near the Hilton was partially blocked, the unexpected long walk became a highlight of the trip. With its great location, spacious room, and walkable access to Namsan, Pacific Hotel Seoul is a solid pick for a city staycation.

Bullet Point Summary

Location: Myeongdong, close to Namsan

Exterior: Outdated, old signage

Interior: Classy feel with art and ceramic displays

Room:

  • Spacious, comfy sofa, table
  • Best price via official website
  • Mountain view (Namsan Tower) is worth it

Facilities:

  • Tom N Toms inside, Twosome Place nearby
  • Sauna & massage area (not used)

Strengths:

  • Walkable distance to Namsan Park
  • Nearby subway & shopping

Downside: Old exterior, missing bathroom photo

2.2. Review 3 : A perfectly located and practical suite hotel in Myeongdong, ideal for family bonding and convenient city stays.

What It Was Like Staying at Pacific Hotel Seoul

I stayed at Pacific Hotel Seoul in Myeongdong, just in front of Exit 3 of Myeongdong Station. The stay was part of a preparation for my brother’s wedding, so I booked a night to get makeup and hair done with my mom. Though I didn’t expect much, I ended up being really satisfied with both the location and cleanliness.

Despite its aged exterior, the interior was well-maintained and clean. The lobby on the first floor had a Hollys Coffee, boutique shops, and a cozy, softly lit lounge. The check-in was smooth, and we were assigned to Room 801, right by the elevator (note: soundproofing wasn’t perfect).

We booked the Twin Suite, which had a separated bedroom and living area, divided by a 180-degree rotating TV. The room came with a sofa, table, vanity, and a fridge with complimentary 4 bottles of water and even ginseng tea. The highlight? Two bathrooms — one near the entrance for convenience, and a full-sized one inside with a shower booth and a separate bathtub, making it perfect for two people.

The amenities were abundant, including shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, toothbrush, razor, shower cap, and more. There were also plenty of towels, which my mom particularly appreciated. The wardrobe was accessible from both the entrance and inside, a clever design for ease of use after a shower.

We ended the day with a nice walk around Myeongdong and the Shinsegae Department Store, and even caught their light show on its final day. With Namsan just behind the hotel, we could also enjoy a partial tower view.

To wrap up, Pacific Hotel Seoul is a great option for a practical, warm staycation — especially for families or friends wanting to relax in central Seoul with everything within walking distance.
